What is MDHPH (Monkey Dust)?
MDPHP (3′,4′-Methylenedioxy-α-pyrrolidinohexiophenone) is a synthetic cathinone belonging to the pyrrolidine derivative group. It is structurally similar to MDPV and is commonly sold as a white, cream-colored, or brownish powder, or in the form of small crystals . It is widely known by the street name „monkey dust.“
Effects of MDDPH
MDHPH is a potent stimulant of the central nervous system. Its effects typically last 2–3 hours, but can extend up to 8 hours depending on the dosage and method of administration.
Desired/Subjective Effects:
Increased alertness, energy, and concentration.
Euphoria and a buoyant mood.
Increased sociability and talkativeness.
Appetite suppression.
Neutral/Sensory Effects:
Dilated pupils, increased body temperature, and heavy sweating.
Teeth grinding (bruxism) and muscle tension.
Side effects and health risks
MDHPH is known for causing a severe hangover and intense cravings. Scientific studies in mice and clinical reports in humans show that it significantly increases heart rate, blood pressure, and aggressive behavior.
Acute physical risks:
Cardiovascular system: rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), high blood pressure, chest pain, increased risk of heart attack or stroke.
Neurological syndrome: seizures, tremors, balance disorders and epileptic seizures.
General syndrome: Hyperthermia (overheating), dehydration, exhaustion and shortness of breath (especially when smoking).
Psychological risks:
Psychosis: Hallucinations (visual/auditory), paranoia and delusions.
Behavioral symptoms: Severe restlessness, aggression, outbursts of violence (in approximately 10% of inpatient cases) and uncontrollable movements.
Cognitive symptoms: Intense cravings, compulsive redosing (due to the short duration of action), anxiety, panic attacks, and the feeling of having „bugs under the skin“ (formication).
Long-term risks:
Addiction and strong psychological dependence.
Persistent psychotic episodes.
Memory loss, depression, and suicidal thoughts.
Severe weight loss, liver damage and social collapse (loss of home, job and relationships).
Safety instructions (damage minimization)
Disclaimer: All consumption is considered safe. The following information is provided for risk minimization in controlled research environments or for emergency preparedness.
1. Low dose, slow increase.
Due to the high potency (stronger than many other cathinones), you should always start with a small test dose to assess purity and individual reaction, as batches can vary greatly.
2. Avoid redosing.
The short duration of effects often tempts users to take repeated doses to maintain the high. This significantly increases the risk of overdose, psychosis, and cardiovascular events.
3. Risks of the type of consumption
Smoking/vaping: Common, but can lead to shortness of breath and breathing problems.
Cold: Causes nasal damage and burning.
Injecting (slamming): Due to the extreme risk of vein damage, infections, and immediate severe psychosis, this is strongly discouraged.
4. Mixing Drugs:
Do not mix with alcohol or other stimulants (such as cocaine or MDMA). This increases the strain on the heart. Simultaneous use of opioids can mask their effects and lead to an accidental overdose of one of the two substances.
5. Signs of an overdose
: If you experience signs of extreme restlessness, chest pain, seizures, fever or loss of consciousness, call emergency services immediately.
Stabilized side position: If the person is unconscious but breathing, place them in the recovery position to avoid the risk of suffocation.
Seizures: DO NOT restrain the affected person; remove dangerous objects.
Naloxone: Although naloxone (Narcan) is NOT effective in the case of an MDPHP overdose (since it is not an opioid), it can be safely administered if an opioid mixture is suspected, as it does not harm the patient.
6. Aftercare:
MDHP suppresses hunger and thirst. Users must force themselves to drink water (but not excessively) and rest. Lack of sleep worsens the psychosis.
Sources of MDPHP: Do not attempt to obtain MDPHP for human consumption. It is illegal in many countries.
You can find MDHPP on our website and at retailers. Contact our team for easy online purchasing of MDHPP.
We, Research Chemicals, are a chemical supplier and sell MDHPH exclusively for laboratory research or forensic analysis. Sales are limited to qualified institutions and are not intended for individual use.
Legal status:
Netherlands: Banned from 2024 onwards due to threats to public safety and health risks.
United Kingdom: Class B drug under the Narcotics Act.
Europe: In most EU countries, it is subject to legal controls due to increasing seizures and poisoning cases.
